I just finished this wallpaper today. It’s been a few weeks coming.
I started doodling (see below) and ended up with this finished product. Enjoy.
This week I present my design reel from 2010. It is a motion graphics piece from my senior year at CCAD and containing some of my best student work. This piece accompanied my printed portfolio and served as a great leave behind for interviews.
It is a great mile marker in my life as an artist. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s worth a peek.
Here is an illustration completed during my Sophomore year at CCAD. The project involved creating an illustrated magazine cover. In the end I wasn’t really happy with the end result of the cover, but I’ve always really liked the illustration.
If you don’t know who the floating head is, it is Larry David. The co-creator of Seinfeld, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
I thought the most fitting way to capture the essence of LD was to go surrealist route ala Magritte with his smirking, floating head. If you are familiar with is work I think this makes make sense.
While revisiting some old work from my CCAD days, I came across this project. This project involved taking a magazine cover and accompanying spreads and redesigning them. This story was about the concept of building housing developments around agricultural areas rather than golf courses. It was a pretty interesting article from one of my favorite publications, GOOD.
